I'm having my makeup done by MAC for my bridal shower where there will be a lot of flash photography. I have combination to oily skin and like a medium to full coverage matte or semi matte finish. I've been debating between having the artist use pro long wear or the studio fix. Packaging The MAC Pro Longwear Foundation comes in a sturdy glass bottle with a pump dispenser hence you need not buy one additionally unlike the MAC Studio Fix Fluid. The pump dispenses just the right amount and I usually need 2-3 pumps for both the face and neck. I have travelled numerous times with this and never did it break once so yes its travel friendly despite being a glass bottle. I were mac studio fix fluid foundation every day although I do find towards the end of the day 3/4pm it does start to wear off but used with a good primer it would be great for brides!! I wanted a foundation which looks natural but makes me look made up but not the “hey look at me, I have makeup on” kinda finish. I do love a natural finish for everyday wear but for events and parties you need something which hides your flaws while looking natural. MAC Prolongwear Foundation provides just that! MAC also has an incredible range of shades so it's easy to match your skin perfectly. This was the first MAC product I ever bought, after a friend recommended it. It's an excellent powder with a pure, matte finish that helps keep oiliness at bay. The fact that it's a pressed powder is wonderful, because I don't have to worry about spilling it all through my bag. The package stays clamped shut, so even if you have a few loose or broken pieces from dropping it, you won't find spillage.
And if you’re going to a party or have a bridal shower or baby shower to go to, and you know that there’s going to be lots of pictures taken, this is a great foundation for special events like that, because it evens out your skin and completely “mattes” it down without looking or feeling heavy. If you’ve ever tried to shop for foundation, you’d know how hard it can be to. Shade names like Caramel and Golden Beige aren’t helpful either as they often look different from brand to brand, or even with different products of the same brand. The MAC foundation system makes finding your exact match a lot easier because it’s developed to match varying degrees of skin tones as well as differences in undertone. It doesn’t feel very heavy on the skin. As I have combination skin, I like to set the foundation with a translucent powder or a lighter color powder to avoid oil or shine on my t zone area. The foundation has SPF 15 protection so it would not look good on photographs especially with flash. The formula is quite water-proof henceforth you would require a good makeup remover to get rid of the foundation completely.
I make sure to powder it with a lighter shade to balance it off. I strongly recommend getting a sample before investing in any MAC foundation as they tend to oxidize so its best to wear it 2-3 times to judge if its a close match. I wasn’t at all pleased with the Pro Longwear Foundations on my first try because of the wrong shade being selected for me so make sure you experiment and don’t be scared to make the MUA try 10 different shades (if need be) on you until you are pleased.
