Office For The Mac Error - Invalid Mailbox Name

So this usually happens when an on-prem user have been delegated access to a mailbox that have been moved to Office 365. This is because Outlook will do a new autodiscover request to determine the location of the mailboxafter it has been moved. To recreate the account, follow the steps in Set up or recover Hotmail, Gmail, or AOL (POP or IMAP) email in Outlook for Mac 2011.

It's been a while since I dealt with this issue and I don't currently have a Mac to look at, so apologies for the vagueness. I had a user with this issue a while back when I worked in a mostly Mac environment. I believe the solution was to stop Mac Mail from trying to sync. (I think there's a button or something that you use to work offline). Once you are offline, you should be able to delete the email and then put Mac Mail back online. Again, sorry for the vagueness, I'm working from memory of a single incident a few years ago.

The ASPNET account was present in the parent and all child domains, causing multiple dirsync errors but only one error message in the error report. Resolution: • Update the account UPNs in each domain with a federated domain as the UPN suffix. • Dirsync will update the objects at the next synchronization cycle. Change UPN to Different Federated Domain. BJones@ContosoOhio.com Unable to update this object in Windows Azure Active Directory, because the attribute [FederatedUser.UserPrincipalName], is not valid. Update the value in your local directory services. Bob moved from an office in Iowa to an office in Ohio.

Hope this helps.
