My Word program, in Office. My Word program, in Office for Mac 2011, keeps crashing, when I try to amend an existing document, especially during Cut&Paste, changing font, or font colour. I have tried un-installing and re-installing, without any progress. MS word for mac 2001 crashes upon attempting to open it.All patches and security downloads have been updated for both my mac(at apple site) and ms word for mac from microsoft's site.

If other apps respond, and especially if the SPOD appears only when you hover the pointer over a window or menu belonging to the app that was in the foreground when your Mac stopped responding, try force-quitting that app. One way to do this is to press Command-Option-Esc, select the app in the list that appears, and then click Force Quit.
