The default document size in Microsoft Word is 8.5-by-11 inches -- regular letter paper. However, the paper size for any document can be changed, whether it's an existing document or a new document. Hey guys, I have an application window that won't resize. It will fill the whole screen and when it is minimized it shrinks in to the task bar.
You have to manually resize the window for it to stretch to the full length of the screen.

And if you try to solve this by 'printing' to PDF, the PDF is not accessible to a screen reader a major concern to schools, government, and most businesses. If I'm going to need a PDF of a document, I start up front in Open Office, using OOs bulleting, tables, heading levels, etc. It creates a document that can be exported to a PDF with the click of a button.
I think that once I upgraded the operating system (I hadn’t for some time), Word in Office was able to update to a new version and that is what has caused the problem. Thanks for the pre set tip – it has solved the issue but I am cranky with Microsoft that the bug in their update has not been fixed and I have to do a work around provided for me by a third party!
